As the influential voice of Nebraska’s hospitals, the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) positions itself as a respected and knowledgeable resource for health care policy information. It will work to provide reliable and comprehensive health data and information about health care services, health care trends, clinical outcomes and the impact on and implications for Nebraska health care providers.

  • The NHA Nebraska Hospital Information System (NHIS) collects and analyzes accurate and reliable Nebraska hospital health care and administrative claims data. The NHIS data is used for analysis and decision-making relative to the health care needs of the State of Nebraska and its residents.

  • Nebraska DATABANK is a web-based database of hospital utilization and financial indicators. This program provides participating Nebraska hospitals with useful, comparative data to benchmark a variety of indicators.

  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) established new standards for the confidentiality, security and transmission of health care information. There are three types of standards created by HIPAA: privacy, security and administrative simplification (e.g., transaction standards). Taken together, these regulations have a major impact on the day-to-day functioning of the nation's hospitals and affect virtually every department of every entity that provides or pays for health care.

  • NeHII is a statewide health information exchange designed to share clinical and administrative data among providers in Nebraska and neighboring states. NeHII’s purpose is to achieve health care transformation through community betterment collaboration while protecting the security and privacy of medical information.
