n the past few years, providers relying on the Medicare appeals process to obtain or retain reimbursement for their services have been adversely impacted by the backlog at the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) level of appeal of over 650,000 pending appeals. This webinar will provide an update on the ALJ backlog, trends regarding provider success rates in the appeals process, and recent changes in the Medicare Appeals process and the Recovery Auditor program process undertaken to address the backlog. We will also offer some insights based on own experiences with the appeal process for hospital providers, including inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and for physicians.
