This presentation will explain what you need to be ready for surveyors and will provide you with better understanding of the CMS infection control interpretative guidelines and worksheet. Infection control is hit hard during a hospital survey, so every facility should have a full-working familiarity with the CMS interpretive guidelines, as well as the revised worksheet for assessing compliance with the infection control Conditions of Participation (CoPs). This is the first time the worksheet has also been included. Hospitals are encouraged to develop tracer tools to match this worksheet. The worksheets are used by State and Federal surveyors on all survey activities when assessing compliance with the infection control standards.
