On November 1, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the final Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) rule implementing the provider-based reimbursement changes of the Bipartisan Budget Act (the Budget Act) of 2015. As required by the Budget Act, CMS recently released the final rule implementing the Budget Act’s reimbursement changes, which will have important implications for hospitals next year. CMS made significant changes from the proposed rule regarding how to bill non-excepted off-campus provider-based departments. Hospitals need to understand these changes and more before January 1, 2017.

This webinar will cover the scope and implications of CMS final rule changes to provider-based reimbursement at off-campus provider-based locations, including critical issues impacting hospitals that are currently operating or planning to open off-campus provider-based locations, such as adding new services, relocating, and changing ownership. In addition, it will cover the final rule’s method for payment for services furnished in non-excepted off-campus provider-based departments in 2017.
