Demystifying Healthcare Technology: Four Fronts of Technology and How They Support Population Health - Part 2 of 2
Continuing the discussion from Part 1 about the challenges of getting technology fully implemented in health care settings, Part 2 will consider additional pitfalls. Then this session will address the complex relationship among data privacy, security, and access. Patients wonʹt trust an organization with their sensitive health data if they donʹt believe that data will be kept private. In order to assure privacy, organizations must have clear and robust security policies. However, policies that are overly restrictive can impede cliniciansʹ workflow to the point that they may not access data that could help them in the care process. With high profile data breaches hitting national news almost on a weekly basis, the privacy/security/access aspect of data and technology cannot be ignored.
