2023 Annual Preparedness Symposia and Post-Conference

These events will be held June 22-23, 2023 at the Harms Center - Western Nebraska Community College, 2620 College Park, Scottsbluff, NE 69361.

The 2023 Annual Preparedness Symposia will be held on June 22, 2023 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will have a separate $50 registration fee.
The Emergency Preparedness 101 post-conference workshop will be held on June 23, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and will have a separate $50 registration fee.
You are welcome to attend either training or both of them through this one registration. Indicate on the registration form your preference and costs will be assigned based upon your selection.

June 22nd - Annual Preparedness Symposia - Registration fee $50

The 2023 Preparedness Symposia will provide practical ideas and share valuable lessons learned from recent emergency responses, as well as insight into future hazards, all with the goal of improving whole community preparedness.

Topics include:

Social Media in Disasters
Bioterrorism
Wastewater Testing for COVID-19
De-escalating Violent Threats
Generational Differences in Communication
Public Health Lab Response, and more!

June 23rd - Emergency Preparedness 101 Post-Conference - Registration fee $50

This preconference is target toward healthcare facilities (hospitals, long-term-care, ambulatory surgery centers, etc.). We will provide information that will help with CMS and/or Joint Commission requirements for Emergency Planning/Preparedness. Topics include disaster planning, exercises, risk communication, business continuity and other topics specific to the CMS/Joint Commission Requirements.

Check-in for Symposia (6/22) begins at 7:45 am (coffee/refreshments provided), with the program beginning at 8:00 am.

Check-in for the post-conference workshop (6/23) begins at 8:45 am (coffee/refreshments provided), with the program beginning at 9:00 am.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are non-refundable, if you are unable to attend you may send someone else in your place or transfer your registration to another Symposia session. Please notify the Center for Biopreparedness, Biosecurity, and Emerging Infectious Diseases (EmergPrepResponse@unmc.edu) prior to the event date of any substitutions.
