This course is designed to provide an overview and history of the current opioid crisis. Participants will explore lessons learned and what steps can be taken by hospitals, physicians, and all staff to curb the current epidemic and improve outcomes for patients. The course is solution-focused and outlines current best practice, information on the PDMP, and strategies to engage and educate patients on the risks of opioids. Participants will also learn of effective ways Georgia is working with hospitals and community members and will leave with key takeaways to implement in their own states.
